Nature Walks

Ocean Ridge Natural Area

Boynton Beach Marina - Ocean Ridge Natural Area

This recreational area is accessable by car, bike, walking or boat. Following the boardwalk through an estuary of mangroves filled with birds, fish, crabs and other wildlife will lead you to an outlook tower about 20ft high. From the tower, looking to the west you can see the intracoastal waterway and looking to the north you can see a small lagoon that is usually active with fish.  Ocean Ridge Natural Area also provides ample docking space for your boat or jetski.

If you choose to travel by boat or jetski, you can follow the boardwalk from the dock through the estuary and out to A1A. Walking across A1A will put you on  private beaches that offer refuge from the large crowds at the more known beaches.

Mangrove Park

Boynton Beach Marina - Mangrove Park

Mangrove park is located behind St. Marks Catholic Church just north of the Boynton Beach Marina.  It is accessible by car, bike and foot. The park consists of a long boardwalk that winds through a forest of Mangrove trees.  At about the half-way point, the boardwalk turns into a elevated platform that overlooks the Intracoastal waterway. From this vantage point, one can look down and see the recently constructed rock walls that provide habitat for Snook and other brackish water fish. The boardwalk continues around and ends near the starting point.

Promenade Park

Boynton Beach Marina - Promenade Park

Located at the east end Boynton Beach Blvd, this park consists of  a brick path that winds through a beautifully crafted garden and ends overlooking the intracoastal waterway. Though small, this park was designed for relaxation. The pathway is shaded by large artsy umbrellas and plenty of benches are provided to rest on. This park is only accessible by car (limited parking), foot and bike.

Promenade Boardwalk

Boynton Beach Marina - Promenade Boardwalk

The Promenade and Mangrove parks are connected by way of a boardwalk that takes you over a small lake in front of the Promenade Condominiums. Many species of water plants, birds, turtles and other animals are commonly seen in the lake. Near the center of the lake, the boardwalk provides benches and shelter from the sun. This boardwalk is accessible by car (parking is limited), bicycle and foot.
